How we control what we ship
Authorized sources only
We purchase from original manufacturers and their authorized or franchised distributors. Where an item is available only through the independent market, we require documented traceability and will decline the line rather than supply undocumented material.
Certificates and country of origin
A certificate of conformance accompanies any shipment where the item or the order requires one. Country of origin is supplied on request. Mill and material certifications are provided where the drawing or specification calls for them.
Traceability
We document the chain from the original manufacturer to us, naming every intermediary, and supply it with the order where you ask for it. Purchase records supporting that chain are retained.
Counterfeit avoidance
Our purchasing practice follows the intent of SAE International standards AS5553 and AS6081: buy from the manufacturer or its authorized channel, verify the source before the order, and reject material whose history we cannot document.
Whose quality system governs
We are a distributor, not a manufacturer. The quality system that governs a manufactured part is the manufacturer's, and their certification is what we pass through to you with the documentation above.
LXXXIV does not hold an ISO 9001 or AS9120 registration of its own today, and we will not imply one. If your specification requires a registered distributor, tell us at quote time and we will say so rather than take the order.
Non-conforming material
Non-conforming or incorrectly shipped material may be returned for replacement or credit within 30 days under a Return Material Authorization. Where the discrepancy is ours, return freight is ours. We notify you on any material we have already shipped if a source later reports a problem with it.
Packaging and marking
Material ships from stock, from the manufacturer, or from a contract packaging facility, depending on the packaging and marking the order requires. Part number labeling, bagging and kitting are quoted on the line.
Supplier quality questions
Send a supplier quality survey or a document request to purchasing@lxxxiv.us and it comes back completed, or comes back saying which line we cannot meet. We would rather lose the line than answer a survey loosely.
